The draw of qualification took place on 25th of July 2015. The nine group winners qualify directly, and the eight best runners-up go into the playoffs to determine the remaining four qualified sides. Matches in the European Qualifiers were played between September 2016 and November 2017. Gibraltar and Kosovo weren’t members of FIFA at the time of draw. On 9th of June 2016, Gibraltar was assigned to Group H and Kosovo to Group I (UEFA has decided that Kosovo shouldn’t play against Bosnia and Herzegovina for security reasons).

All teams played 10 matches (twice against each other – home and away). In case of equal points, the criteria were following: 

1) goal difference

2) goals scored

3) points from matches between teams in question

4) goal difference in matches between teams in question

5) goals scored in matches between teams in question

6) away goals scored matches between teams in question

7) playoff match on the neutral field.

FIFA World Cup 2018 Venues and Seating Capacity

This Tournament is Scheduled to take place in Russia. On 2nd December 2018, this Country was awarded the hosting rights of Fifa WC 2018. Russia proposed Kaliningrad, Kazan, Krasnodar, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Saint Petersburg, Samara, Saransk, Sochi, Volgograd, Yaroslavl, and Yekaterinburg as the venues for FIFA World Cup 2018. These 11 host cities will have 12 Stadiums and the whole match played in these places. Moscow which is the capital of Russia will have two stadiums while remaining 10 cities will have 1 stadium each. All the stadiums are expected to have a huge seating capacity. Many stadiums are still under construction and are expected to be complete before FIFA WC 2018.

Remaining 31 teams still waiting to qualify the FIFA World Cup 2018. 210 teams were eligible for qualifying for FIFA World Cup 2018. Out of them after months of qualifying rounds, only 31 more teams will make it to the main draw.

FIFA WC 2018 Team Squads – Each team is first asked to pick their preliminary 30 man squad. From those 30 players, each team should pick 23 players as the final squad before the FIFA deadline ends. From these 23 players, having 3 goalkeepers is a must.
